Recent Events in Hays County - A Postmortem

Swami Prakashanand Saraswati - The Hunt with John Walsh

The mystery of the Swami Prakashanand Saraswati trial continues to reverberate on the lips of Hays County residents - What went wrong?

The mystery of the Swami Prakashanand Saraswati trial continues to reverberate on the lips of Hays County residents. Is it time to ask, what went wrong? Why was a benign and well-respected community taken down by Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe and Hays County Assistant District Attorney Cathy Compton, the Hays County Sheriff's Office, the Hays County Judge and a fired-up team of behind-the-scenes shadow-figures.

First of all, let me give a brief overview of what is now commonly accepted about Swami Prakashanand Saraswati trial. In 2007, Kate Tonnessen, Vesla Tonnessen Kazimier and Shyama Rose went to the Hays County police station. The 3 women, in their late 20s and 30s said that Swami Prakashanand Saraswati touched their breasts 10 times each, 15+ years prior to that. Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe and Hays County Assistant District Attorney Cathy Compton took it as an opportunity to fulfill their election campaign motto of raising the conviction rate in Hays County. From the moment the 3 women walked into the office, no investigation was launched into Swami Prakashanadn Saraswati or the accusations made against the 80 year old Swami. The entire body of evidence was the statements of the 3 women.

Facts Emerge about  Swami Prakashanand Saraswati

The facts are now known through admissions by Kate Tonnessen's and Vesla's Tonnessen Kazimer's Mother, Father, Elder Brother and Elder Sister. The family have admitted that the accusations emerged as a result of a family feud. Kate gave them a warning that she would make false accusations against the family's pastor, Swami Prakashanand Saraswati. This would happen unless the family abandoned their religion.

What is now known is that Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe and Hays County Assistant District Attorney Cathy Compton were two fired up and highly ambitious prosecutors. Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe and Hays County Assistant District Attorney Cathy Compton took on the case as an opportunity to enhance their reputation and make money.

The case dragged on for 4 years. Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe and Hays County Assistant District Attorney Cathy Compton didn't waste resources on gathering evidence or  investigations or interviews (they never bothered interviewing Swami Prakashanand Sarsawati himself). Instead, what Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe and Hays County Assistant District Attorney Cathy Compton did was a mixture of the following:
  1. Malign the defendant and the Hays County Indian Community through the media. Cathy Compton taunted the community on the comments section of news articles related to the trial
  2. Spread misinformation through a team of religiously prejudiced, behind-the-scenes activists and lobbyists led by a professional ghost writer and black PR mastermind, Karen Jonson
  3. Hire a hit squad to intimidate the vegetarian Indian community from the roof of the courthouse. The achieved three goals: 1. Silence or disorient defense witnesses, 2. Make the jury, media and public believe that a deadly operation was taking place against an Osama Bin Laden-type figure. When the media questioned why there was an unprecedented level of security, Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe fell silent
  4. Fill the jury's head with religiously motivated bias against the Hindu faith
  5. Potentially exculpatory evidence vanished simultaneously from the office of Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe and Cathy Compton the Hays County Sheriff's office. The fact that evidence went missing from two locations proved that Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe and the Hays County police were collaborating to convict Swami Prakashanand Saraswati. What was the exculpatory evidence? Original police video of interviews with Kate Tonnessen. Without that tape, Swami Prakashanand Saraswati's lawyers had no possibility of building a case. Swami Prakashanand Saraswati's lawyer explained why:
“There’s no physical evidence of any kind” and "it represents the primary method by which Defendant's counsel can impeach the complainant's testimony at trial."
Defense witnesses characterized Kate Tonnessen, Velsa Tonnessen Kazimer and Shyama Rose as three outcasts of the community. The three women had no supporters except Karen Jonson, Sherri and Cathy. On the other hand, everyone in the courtroom was on Swami Prakashanand Saraswati's side. Everyone walked out when they realized that it was staged in such a way that Swami Prakashanand Saraswati had no possibility of ever being set free, despite the facts.

On the final day of the trial, Swami Prakashanand Saraswati was convicted. The 82 year old Swami left the courtroom in his wheelchair, vanished, and was never seen again. That was a Friday in 2011. On Monday, he was given 280 years for minor charges of touching breasts, not genitals, not rape.

Karen Jonson, a main advocate against the Hindu community has since recanted her support for Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe. Karen Jonson said:

"WTF, Hays County? Wherever I go to discuss my book, that is typically the number one question I hear.

Not a single person I've ever spoken to about the escape from justice of Prakashanand Saraswati ever has a good thing to say about the Hays County team [District Attorney Sherri Tibbe and Assistant District Attorney Cathy Compton etc] who let him get away. I say team, because it wasn't just one person -- the whole team made the decision to let him go on the Friday of his conviction, giving him a whole weekend to make his escape plans. Thereby not getting the ball in the end zone. -- e.i., putting him in jail where he belongs.

In fact, the Hays county team almost let Prakashanand Saraswati completely slip through the cracks (only to later let him slip through the cracks). In hindsight, they already had the million dollars, so why care if he returned or not to the U.S. or not? Similarly, why care if he didn't return for sentencing or not? After all, him and his crew of blind-faith followers were extreme pains in the butt.

The Hunt for Swami Prakashanand Saraswati

The fine men of the US Marshall service have been manipulated by Hays County and have issued extreme racist remarks against Indians. US Marshall Hectar Gomez called Swami Prakashanand Saraswati a gopher. The hunt continues for an innocent and persecuted man who was likely lynched by Hays County to keep his eleven million dollar bail. According to Urban Dictionary, a gopher means:
"low-ranking employee who is made to do the bidding of their superiors. So-called because they are often running around doing various small tasks." (Source)
Karen Jonson, a professional marketer, is milking the public for millions of dollars with a new career in Black PR against the Indian American community.

Note: Sherri Tibbe is no longer DA.
